APEM Components introduces piezo switches for information and banking kiosks

• 20 Oct 2008

HAVERHILL, Mass. — Miniature and industrial switches manufacturer APEM Components Inc., has introduced the PBA Series of Piezo switches. The PBA Piezo Pushbutton has no moving parts, is completely sealed, and is perfect for harsh environment applications. The switches are ideal for use in applications such as information and banking kiosks, beverage dispensers, lifts, safety and security equipment, public Internet stations, food processing machinery, mining equipment, and chemical and petrochemical processing equipment.

According to a news release, the PBA Series is provided with normally open (pulse) contacts and offered with two contact ratings; 200mA 24 VAC/DC and 1A 24 VAC/DC with switch resistance less than 10 ohms. These switches feature IP 68 panel mount sealing and have a life expectancy of 50 million cycles. Additional specifications include standard operating temperatures of -20ºC to +75ºC and -40ºC to +125ºC on request. Mounting sizes are 16 and 22 mm.
